Babcock signs at Highcross' 1000 Lakeside

2 August 2011

Highcross has let 10,100 sq ft at its 1000 Lakeside office building in Portsmouth to Babcock International Group.

The leading engineering support services company is relocating one of its Education and Training divisional offices to Lakeside North Harbour.

Babcock has taken the second-floor space on a five-year lease to accommodate 90 staff currently dispersed across four different locations.

A spokesman for Babcock commented: “When looking to consolidate our office space it quickly became apparent that 1000 Lakeside was the building that best met our key requirements of location, prestige, flexibility and value.”

Highcross director, Nick Turner, comments: “1000 Lakeside is now a significant hub for businesses, with more than seventy companies based at the building, the majority attracted by its locational benefits and excellent facilities. With the planned phased development of the Lakeside North Harbour site, we are also now offering businesses the additional choice of bespoke new office space, which will be supported by an even wider range of on-site facilities.”

Located adjacent to Junction 12 of the M27 at the gateway to Portsmouth, the air-conditioned, four-floor 1000 Lakeside office building is set in extensively landscaped grounds and has almost 1,000 car parking spaces. Office space is available up to 72,000 sq ft, with a Regus business centre also located on site for companies requiring smaller accommodation.

Joint agents for 1000 Lakeside are Vail Williams and Hughes Ellard.
