Fast growth for Tomicca at 1000 Lakeside
Fast-growing development consultancy, Tomicca, is expanding at Highcross’ 1000 Lakeside office building in Portsmouth. The company has taken 2,000 sq ft for its new head office, just one year after moving into serviced office space at the building’s on-site Regus business centre.
Highcross has let the 2,000 sq ft office suite on the second floor of 1000 Lakeside to Tomicca on a five-year lease.
Tomicca, which provides development consultancy services for housing associations, developers, landowners and public bodies, has five other offices across the UK. The company was set up in late 2008 by a group of senior property specialists, who had all been made redundant as a result of the recession.
Following the recent win of several major architectural and planning contracts, Tomicca’s Portsmouth office is expanding from four to fifteen staff during the next month, with plans for recruiting a further eight or ten staff by the autumn.
Managing director, Leigh Edwards said the decision to expand at 1000 Lakeside reflected the many benefits of the building: “It’s a great place to work and we have found the location has been an important factor in attracting new people to work with us. We are very proud of our recent growth, particularly as we formed the company during the recession, and look forward to further expansion in our new high specification office space here at 1000 Lakeside.”
Nick Turner, director of asset management at Highcross added: “It is great to see Tomicca enjoying such rapid growth in what has been a difficult period for many companies. This is the first business to have expanded out of the Regus serviced office space into a separate suite in the building and we hope it will be the first of many to make this move.”
