The inaugural Lakeside Live event took place in September 2017 and the lunchtime concerts have featured acts including Timeless (the A Capella trio that made it to the final of Sky One’s Sing: Ultimate A Capella) and well-known local band The Bootlegs. A Christmas special was also held in December.
Karen Tyrrell, Client & Communications Manager at Lakeside North Harbour, comments: “We are always keen to enhance the working day of our occupiers, by ensuring that we offer first class facilities and by creating a great place to work. Lakeside Live is a fantastic example of this extra commitment, and alongside our other events – such as Street Food Friday and Street Market Days – is helping us to ensure we offer access to a better work/life balance for everyone here.”
Marley Blandford, the 22 year old singer songwriter from Portsmouth, adds: “The idea of coming to play a few songs to entertain people on their lunch break or those who needed a break from work to relax for a while was very appealing. The sound in the Business Lounge is really good; it’s a brilliant venue for music and the audience was great – lots of people coming through as they made their way around campus on their lunch break and staying to enjoy some songs!”
Karen continues: “We are delighted with how the Lakeside Live events have been received. We feel strongly that the campus life we are creating at Lakeside North Harbour is providing just what today’s successful businesses want – first class office space, excellent transport links, shops and restaurants on site and a thriving social scene. Our exciting plans this year include a series of social events held in the beautifully landscaped grounds around the lake once the summer months arrive.”
Following the lunchtime event Marley went on to support X-Factor’s Matt Cardle as part of his latest live tour.
