Every June, a 10-day festival is created with something exciting for everyone. That means all kinds of theatre, music and visual arts, exploring past, present and future and what’s more, it means getting involved, with activities for the whole family.
Running from Friday 19 to Sunday 28 June 2015, now in its 16th year, the Portsmouth Festivities has developed a reputation for providing high quality events with professional artists in the city’s unique venues. Both regionally and nationally, our reach continues to grow.
And it is with great pleasure that we once again sponsor the Portsmouth Festivities and in addition have an event all of our own, here at Lakeside North Harbour.
Saturday 27 June, 10.00am – 12noon
FREE event(limited availability – ticket required)
Now that Lakeside North Harbour is more accessible to the public, enjoy a wildlife walk led by Steve Wiltshire from Hampshire & Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust.
June is the perfect time to enjoy the wonderful scenery around the 19 acre lake stocked with several different fish species. You might catch a glimpse of our resident Green Woodpeckers and Herons, hear the summer time songs of the numerous different birds in the trees and if lucky, see our wading birds taking their young chicks out for a summer time swim.
Our insect wildlife conservation area should be buzzing with life and dragonflies and damselflies might be darting across the lake or basking in the afternoon sunshine.
And once the walk is over, take time to relax, sit down on the Lakeside Decked area or lay out your picnic blanket and enjoy your picnic lunch.
